Product Description

14" RFPI-70 I-Joists are supplied through our Stockton, California wholesale distribution hub for construction projects throughout the Treasure Valley. The RFPI-70 series is the industry-recognized equivalent to Weyerhaeuser TJI-360 and Boise Cascade BCI-60 I-joists in 14" depths and can be used as a substitution where those joist series are specified. Featuring wider 2-5/16" LVL flanges, these engineered floor joists provide an expanded nailing surface and improved dimensional stability compared to dimensional lumber floor framing. I-joists are commonly used to reduce shrinking, twisting, and floor movement while supporting longer spans with less material weight.

Specifications
  • Depth: 14"
  • Flange Width: 2-5/16"
  • Flange Material: High-Grade LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber)
  • Series: RFPI-70
  • Certification: APA-rated engineered wood I-joist (PRI-400)
Common Uses
  • Primary floor framing for custom residential builds with large clear-span requirements
  • Roof rafter applications where 14" depth is required for insulation or high snow loads
  • Multi-family floor systems where increased stiffness and sound dampening are prioritized
  • Ideal for open-concept floor plans that require the elimination of intermediate support beams
Contractor & Builder Notes
  • Efficient Clear Spans: The 14" depth provides a superior span-to-weight ratio, allowing for longer runs than 11-7/8" joists without the bulk of solid timber.
  • LVL Performance: High-grade veneer flanges ensure the joist remains straight and true, virtually eliminating the "floor squeaks" caused by the drying and shrinking of dimensional lumber.
  • Mechanical Accessibility: The 14" web height provides ample room for plumbing and HVAC ductwork to be routed through the floor cavity; refer to Roseburg’s hole charts for allowable placement.
  • System Integration: Matches 14" LVL rim board depths perfectly for a flush, professional perimeter finish and simplified exterior sheathing.
