Product Description

16" RFPI-70 I-Joists are supplied through our Stockton, California wholesale distribution hub for construction projects throughout the Treasure Valley. The RFPI-70 series is the industry-recognized equivalent to Weyerhaeuser TJI-360 and Boise Cascade BCI-60 I-joists in 16" depths and can be used as a substitution where those joist series are specified. Featuring wider 2-5/16" LVL flanges, these engineered floor joists provide an expanded nailing surface and improved dimensional stability compared to dimensional lumber floor framing. I-joists are commonly used to reduce shrinking, warping, and floor movement while supporting longer spans with less material weight.

Specifications
  • Depth: 16"
  • Flange Width: 2-5/16"
  • Flange Material: High-Grade LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber)
  • Series: RFPI-70
  • Certification: APA-rated engineered wood I-joist (PRI-400)
Common Uses
  • Primary floor framing for custom homes requiring long clear spans without mid-span supports
  • High-load roof rafter systems in areas with heavy snow or specialized roofing requirements
  • Commercial floor systems where 16" depth is specified for plumbing and HVAC clearance
  • Ideal for creating "rock-solid" floor feels in large great rooms and master suites
Contractor & Builder Notes
  • Engineered Stability: The 2-5/16" LVL flange is manufactured to resist shrinking and twisting, ensuring a level subfloor and eliminating the "crowning" common in dimensional lumber.
  • Maximized Span-to-Weight: The 16" RFPI-70 provides exceptional stiffness without the excessive weight of solid-sawn timber, making for easier handling on the job site.
  • MEP Passage: The deep 16" web allows for larger diameter HVAC ductwork and plumbing runs to stay within the floor cavity; refer to Roseburg hole charts for allowable placement.
  • Consistency: Perfectly matched to 16" LVL rim board depths for a flush, professional perimeter and simplified exterior sheathing installation.
