Product Description

The 3-1/2" x 19-1/2" 24F-V8 Douglas Fir Glulam Beam is an ultra-high-capacity engineered structural member designed for extreme spans and heavy-duty load-bearing requirements. This 24F-V8 balanced layup is a premium structural grade that serves as a superior upgrade to standard 24F-V4 beams, making it a direct and high-performance substitution for any plan specifying a 24F-V4 glulam with standard camber.

Manufactured from high-grade Douglas Fir laminations and bonded with waterproof structural adhesives, this 19-1/2" depth beam features a standard camber to neutralize deflection over expansive distances. Kiln-dried for maximum dimensional stability and staged for fast loading at our Stockton, California wholesale distribution hub, this beam ensures structural precision for large-scale custom homes and commercial framing projects.

Specifications
  • Width: 3-1/2"
  • Depth: 19-1/2"
  • Stress Grade: 24F-V8 (Premium Balanced Layup)
  • Species: Douglas Fir (DF)
  • Camber: Standard Camber included
  • Certification: APA-rated structural glued laminated timber
Common Uses
  • Primary structural support for extra-wide 18' to 22' garage door openings with heavy upper-story loads
  • Main floor girders for luxury estates requiring massive clear spans and open-concept interiors
  • Heavy-duty ridge beams and structural valley rafters in expansive vaulted roof systems
  • Industrial-scale headers and transfer beams used to support multiple point loads in multi-family construction
Contractor & Builder Notes
  • Engineered Capacity: The 24F-V8 balanced layup provides superior structural values over standard V4, offering an increased safety margin for critical, long-span applications.
  • Camber Orientation: While the V8 layup is balanced, the beam is manufactured with a built-in crown (standard camber). Ensure the "TOP" identification stamp faces up so the beam levels perfectly once the structure is loaded.
  • Dimensional Stability: Every beam is kiln-dried to a consistent moisture content. This eliminates the twisting, shrinking, and checking common in solid-sawn timber, ensuring a level floor and a rock-solid structural frame.
  • Logistical Precision: Staged for immediate forklift loading at our Stockton, California wholesale distribution hub to keep your crew moving and ensure heavy structural members arrive exactly when needed.
